Mountain
Clinics
Wild Deuce
has been asked so many times by the general public to teach
clinics and asked “can I do that with my horse?”
With our Exclusive Mountain Horse Training so popular and
booked into 2010. Our response is “YES” and we
now can show you in the mountains with you and your horse!
- “The
word has spread how amazing these two girls are with horses.
I couldn’t believe the relationship they had with
each horse they trained with mine. These girls live in the
mountains with these horses and how they train is so incredible,
it’s working logic. They train the way they do because
of where they live and what they do for a living. They are
putting beginner guests on horses than crossing rivers.
They preach safety and teach you the relationship you can
have. They are excellent with horses, people and how they
train. I can’t say enough about them! Finally, honest
working horsewomen who will teach us couples who want to
ride in the mountains and who understood the key to training!
Thanks girls!" Quote
from a horse training client 2007.

About
Wild Deuce Trainers
Brenda and Terri have rode extensively in the mountains always
training colts, often packing out for days just the two of
them and the un-broke colts they are training. They will ride
one and lead up to 8-10 behind them. The mountains have been
our best teacher for survival and the horses have been our
best teacher for the important of equine~human relationship.
We have seen a lot of things go right and wrong. We pride
ourselves on our training and abilities with each horse. We
take training to a new level most people don’t ever
experience, because they don’t ride to the remote places
where you depend on that very horse for partnership and sometimes
survival! Let us show you our world and how with the proper
foundation you can excel. In the arena, side of a mountain
or jumping over a 4 foot spread! We have both competed and
shown in both Western and English. Our horses and clients
we have taught have been commented on as “BOLD in the
jump pen” to comments of “your horse is so respectful
and listens.”
Once we stop talking to our horses,
the communication is gone, let us show you how to get that
back. Once you start talking, the future is yours in whatever
course you ride. One of the key things we teach you is that
it’s not the obstacles in life you face. Like tarps,
creeks, slickers, scary jumps, cattle ect…it’s
how your horse re-acts to the new things with you as a partner.
Is your horse thinking about you in that moment? If you answered
no, let us help.

Our methods are using natural
horsemanship and we teach you to Create a Thinking
Horse, we start in the round pen. In the round pen,
your horse will be professional round penned by either Terri
or Brenda. You will watch your horse and us start talking.
Respect and trust are key and we will first show you. It also
gives us insight into your horse, their training and where
they are in the herd. Next, you step into the round pen and
start your conversation with your horse. We round pen one
horse at a time while everyone watch’s, every horse
and every person will have a something different to show each
person in the clinic. Next, you step into the round pen and
practice what was shown. Foundation and the round pen are
key to success for the outside world. We take all the things
you learn in the round pen to the trail, and practice. Bring
your note book there is lots to learn each day.
- It
clicked for me when I watched Terri lead a just un-broke
mare over some tarp which the horse was nervous of. I watched
this mare get terrified of the tarp but not jump on Terri
and followed her where she went. This mare had one eye on
the scary tarp and one eye on Terri. It was then I understood
what it meant to create a thinking horse who knows where
you are in each situation, to not jump on you and watch
for you. It was amazing, to see the respect this mare had
for Terri. Quote
from a winter clinic client 2007 Fort Vermillion AB.
- I walked
into this clinic un sure and having so many questions. Brenda
was so thorough on explain everything to me and kept asking
“if I had questions”. These girls are so good
and making sure you understand. I walked out of there confident
and doing things I never would of thought possible like
riding my horse through a slicker Terri held while standing
on her horse? I also really enjoyed choring on the horses;
we weren’t allowed to get off. It all makes sense
after your clinic. This horse thing is all new and now my
friends are wondering where I got all my confidence. Thank
you Wild Deuce, see you next summer I am coming back for
another clinic!

stud, but seeing what Terri accomplished in just one round
pen amazed me. I told Terri after that first round pen,
the clinic just paid for itself in one day! "
Winter clinic client 2008.
Safety is very
important and taken very serious. If we feel you can’t
ride your horse on the trail portion of the clinic. You will
ride a Wild Deuce horse and either Brenda or Terri will ride
your horse or pony it. No one will get left behind or left
out!
